“What’s the secret behind her glowing and radiant skin?” That’s the first thought that strikes you when you see a beautiful actress on screen.
We all desire to have a flawless skin. Annoying fine lines, wrinkles and age spots can appear even before you realize it, leaving you in despair. It is important to imbibe a healthy lifestyle along with the right skin care regimen. DIY anti-aging masks help you retain your skin’s beauty to a great extent.
Homemade facial masks include ingredients like foods, vegetables, essential oils, herbs and other natural components. The nutrients and minerals present in these ingredients tighten the collagen fibers and promote skin regeneration. Homemade remedies are cost-effective and unlike over-the-counter products, they have no side effects at all. Keep your skin fresh and youthful with these 5 simple DIY anti-ageing facial masks.
Cranberry anti-aging face mask
Take 1 cup of cranberries and 1 cup of seedless red grapes. Blend these in a blender to make a thick paste. Then add 2 teaspoons of grapefruit juice and 1 teaspoon of unflavored gelatin. Cover and refrigerate for an hour. Apply the paste on your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Cranberries are high in antioxidants that are extremely useful for delaying the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The vitamins present in this fruit aid in the production of collagen, keeping the skin firm and supple. The red grapes in this mask protect the skin from UV damage, thereby fighting the formation of wrinkles. The seeds of grapes contain Proanthocyanins, which promote the production of collagen and elastin fiber. Gelatin in this mask eliminates the dead skin cells and tones the skin.
Avocado and Honey
Take half a cup of avocado and ¼ cup of honey. Mash the avocado and then stir in honey. Apply it on your face and wash off after 15 minutes.
Avocado is one of the most potent ingredients used in anti-ageing creams and treatments. It protects the skin from carcinogens and other elements that cause harm to the skin. Avocado is rich in omega 3 fatty acids that stimulate the production of sebum in the skin. It also improves the elasticity of the skin. Honey is a natural humectant, which helps to draw moisture to the skin. The antibacterial properties of honey draw out the impurities from the skin, detoxifying it. Vitamin A present in both the ingredients promotes skin regeneration and rejuvenation.
Tea tree mask
Tea is a very common ingredient used in anti-ageing facials. Brew a cup of white or green tea on medium heat. Leave it aside until the infusion turns lukewarm. Soak a cotton ball or face cloth in the tea strain and place it on the eyes. The heat will open up the pores, infusing the tea into the skin. Green and black teas are loaded with antioxidants that savage the free radicals. Drench a face cloth in the tea and lay it on the face. Do this for ten minutes daily to ward off the signs of aging. The anti-ageing properties of green tea will deflate the puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.
Milk and cocoa mask
Cocoa is believed to be one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. Raw cocoa contains high amounts of cancer-fighting antioxidants. These antioxidants also reduce the possibility of premature aging. Take the unsweetened cocoa powder and add milk to it. Mix to form a smooth paste and apply it on the skin. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off. This facial mask will soothe and moisturize the skin, leaving it smooth and supple. The lactic acid present in milk softens and exfoliates the skin, sloughing off the dead cells.
Oats and buttermilk mask
Take ½ cup of buttermilk and add 2 teaspoons of oats and 1 teaspoon of almond oil to it. Mix the buttermilk and oatmeal until the paste softens and then add the almond oil. Leave it aside for 10 minutes and then apply the paste on your face, avoiding the eyes. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Oats naturally exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells. It is a source of many essential nutrients like Vitamin E, zinc, copper, selenium, manganese and magnesium. Oats are also used to treat psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. The lactic acid present in buttermilk tightens the pores and improves the texture of the skin.
Apart from the above-mentioned facial masks, liberal use of sunscreen and moisturizer will keep your skin hydrated and protected. Make sure that you cleanse and exfoliate the skin before applying the mask. Follow it up with a moisturizer to maintain the smoothness. Don’t forget to share your views in the comments section below.

very nice article. But You know Premature aging coming, but that doesn’t mean you can’t slow fine
lines and wrinkles down a bit. Naturally reduce fine lines and wrinkles from forming with an anti-aging yogurt face mask. The lactic acid in yogurt will help dissolve dead skin and tighten pores.Add a tablespoon of olive oil to three to four tablespoons of yogurt. Apply the mixture to your face for about 30 minutes, three times a week.
Kind Regards,
